I like rock and metal, and for the last 12 years (approximately) all
the stuff I've been listening to is semi-underground, I mean not
mainstream but not like super underground or whatever, anyway, I
remember that in the 90's mainstream music was actually good, well,
there was still a lot of crap but the quality was noticeably higher,
anyway it hasn't bothered me too much that the bands I like aren't
very popular, I don't like big stadium concerts anyway, but now that
record companies have figured out they can make money selling junk, is
mainstream music going to stay that way forever now? As in, it'll
never be like the days when record companies were run by music fans,
instead of run by industrialists manufacturing a product...
To give you an idea what I mean by semi-underground, Opeth for
example, ask anyone on the street and 99% of them won't know who they
are, but the last album still managed to reach No.23 on the billboard
charts in the first few days of it's release.
